The party starts to gather itself together to continue on its way...but with some uncertain glances at the various exits.
"Which tunnel was it?" wonders Pru. She points at the southwest exit. "That one?"
Betham glances at his wrister and opens his mouth to speak.
"That's where we came from," blurts L'Toyei. "That way leads to the main arterial tunnel under New Bousin Road and an access station there. You can get to your destination that way, of course, but it's not the most direct route." He points toward the southeast exit. "On the other hand, that one..."
"...is the way we want to go," interrupts Betham edgily. "It goes to another supply node..."
"...which is also on the New Bousin Road main arterial tunnel," butts in L'Toyei, "and is the junction to your destination, so you'll have to pass through it no matter..."
"Guarded?" asks Lirassa.
"Bet on it," replies Furnfinndorn darkly.
The Ehrlathagi guard starts quietly humming inside his cardboard fortress.
The party quickly check their weapons and gear. As they do so, Bina turns with a huff and strides impatiently toward the southeast tunnel, Atraktu falling behind her.
"Hey, you!" cries Mey'Luskar, hurrying after the priestess. "Wait! You're not g...uh?"
The three women come to an abrupt halt at the tunnel entrance.
Some members of the party react to something they've heard while others glance at them questioningly.
"Stun weapon fire!" reports Ham, nodding toward the southeast tunnel.

Granite too will approach the southeastern tunnel with pistol at the ready. She'll stand to the side of the entrance peering down the tunnel to see if she can gauge the distance of the shots and/or any light emissions. To the group (and partly to herself) she remarks "What are they shooting at?", comes the high pitched voice from the talk box. Granite grumbles something in Shurian that is untranslatable and fiddles with the box again to restore her preferred settings.
"Well, my first guess would be Dun'Mesker. He said he had some scores to settle and he didn't strike me as an individual to waste time. My second guess would be the Blues. They're young and impetuous enough to think they could storm the Eye of Tan. My last guess would be Par'deth, but stun weapon fire doesn't seem his style."
After pausing to look at the Ehrlathagi guard humming quietly to himself and pondering if it's a good idea to leave him unattended, Zeton strides toward Granite, (after telling the med bot and Zobog to follow him) and says, while pointing down the tunnel, "Shall we go see if they need medical assistance?"
Zobog follows Zeton, but the medbot heads back to its socket in the survival pod.
"It won't follow you," says Bina, rising to her feet. "It won't leave this room."
Betham stares at the tunnel with a grim expression. "Bina," he says, "I think I felt three individuals stunned...and very surprised."
"Yes," replies the disgraced priestess with a sigh. She closes her large eyes and pauses before continuing. "There are three in there. Two humanoids, maybe Sarkon, and a Farbett. All three are warriors. One of the Sarkons has the aura of one highly trained and experienced..." Her eyes open wide. "He has the mark of the Rune on him!"
She swoons, and Ham and Pru quickly move to steady her. Pru immediately pulls her hands away again as if the Hergoth were scalding hot.
"But all stunned?" asks Lirassa.
"Yes," replies Bina, regaining her composure. "They didn't expect it. They were surprised...or..."
"Or?" echoes Pru, rubbing her hands as if to clean them.
"Betrayed."
Mon'Fargret reaches out with his mind as well to see if he can garner any other impressions.
"If we sense only three, then who, or what, stunned them?"
The two Hergoth (Bina and Betham) look thoughtful for a minute. Then they glance at each other and gesture negative.
"Whoever it was, they're out of my reach," says Betham.
"It's too muddled," adds Bina.
